Water levels dropping in the Brandywine, but still high and muddy. One more burst of rain expected tonight, but the river should start clearing by Friday. Slightly turbid conditions are favorable to some fly fishers; fishing the edges will be huge, as the edges will clear first. Darker colored flies, black, brown and olive, will be good choices as the silhouette(s) will show up better in dirty water. Cover a ton of water to find fish; be careful as there has been much debris in the water, in the shape of logs and branches, which will potentially knock you down. Water temps are holding and still warm enough to keep smallies active. By the weekend, barring more rain, the river levels should be down and clear(er). Get out and fish!!!
Keep up to date on all things flyfishing.
