We have reports of good numbers of fish in both the PA and DE side of the Clay. With warmer weather coming this week everyone should get out and fish. Midge larva imitations like black and red zebra midge should be the go to patterns. Fish them deep under an indicator. As always please feel free to message us, call or come into the shop for more details. Remember there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Get out and fish!
Lee took Paul on s trip to Indian River Inlet on Sunday. The wind was light and the weather mild. The water was clear and birds were active. There was pelnt of space to fish. Paul caught this shad on a small arctic Fox treatment in white with some ice wing fiber in UvHue pearl. He used an 8wt Redington Crosswater Rod and a Lamson reel loaded with the new Rio Coastal Quick Shooter line. The pink color really stands out. It loads well even in short. Paul saw the fish break up current from him and made perfect cast to intercept the nice shad. The main slug of fish had not come by yet. Resident fish and Shad are willing participants though. Get out and fish!
Richard checked in with a strong report from a south east PA stream. He fished a Sage One 3 wet and a indicator rig ending in 7x flouro. Fisher were eating anything red. Swing by the shop for all the gear and intel you need to have a great day on the water.
Scott checked in after a successful day on a SE PA stream. The water was low and clear. This fish ate a size 22 red zebra midge with a black bead. Scott used a 9 ft 3 wt Sage One and 7 X flouro. When the water is cold the fish get low so use plenty of shot to get down.
Lee checked in with some nice striper. He reports steady action on the right tide using a black and purple beast master general variant. According to Lee, "The time to get out and fish is now. The fish are hungry" Guide trips are available for trout, striper, shad and bass.
Ryan checked in with this nice brown he caught on a Green Weenie in the catch and release section of the White Clay. Despite cold temperatures he reports seeing loads of fish. He also reported seeing PA boat and fish in action. With all the fish in the water it time to go out and catch some. If you have any questions about where to go or what to use please stop by the shop, give us a call or message us. We are here to help you catch more fish and enhance your enjoyment of the wonderful resources we have in the area.
