Beginner Fly Tying ClassThe Beginner Class runs for 6 weeks beginning Tuesday January 9th, 2018. Classes start at 6 and to quote Terry, "We tie until we drop." The cost is $100.00 per person.
We supply all the tying materials for the patterns we tie in class, you are required to have a basic set of tying tools (we can help you with this at the shop) and a vise. It is also recommended you have a portable light to set up over your vise. Our beginner classes are designed to give you a solid foundation of tying skills. This is the class for those who have always wanted to try tying or for those who have been away from the bench for a while and feel they may need a refresher. We will tie several patterns per session during this Tuesday night class. The progression from easy to semi easy flies will be a blast. All of our classes are meant to be fun and informative. At the end of the six week class students posses the skills to tie many of the stand-by trout flies we all know and love and if you do your "homework" you will have a full fly box at the start of the season. You can sign up and pay for class on the website by clicking "Add to Cart" above, over the phone or in person in the shop. Please feel to contact us by phone (302) 654-6515 or message us here if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in class. |
Advanced Fly Tying ClassAdvanced Class occurs every Wednesday for 6 weeks beginning January 10th, 2018. Class will not meet February 8th. Classes start at 6 and to quote Terry, "We tie until we drop. "The cost is $100.00 per person.
Better bring your "A" game for this one because the sky is the limit. We are constantly looking for new patterns that will push the talent of the tiers in the class as well as the instructors. Last year we did everything from #24 midges to #6 spun deer head streamers. We even finished with a Shuttle Woven May Fly nymph. This is usually our largest class as we have many repeat tiers some of whom have been taking the class every year since we started. Our goal in this class is to hopefully introduce you to new and innovative patterns and to expand your skill set. Remember that pattern you always liked the look of, but didn't really have the confidence to try? Well after this class confidence won't be an issue. All of this takes place in a fun, good nature environment. I am confident after your first "advanced" class you will become a regular. If you would like to sign up for a class please feel to contact us by phone (302) 654-6515 or message us here. We look forward to seeing you in class. |
Saltwater Tying ClassSaltwater Class occurs every Thursday for 6 weeks beginning January 11th, 2018. Classes start at 6 and to quote Terry, "We tie until we drop." The cost is $100.00 per person.
Using his years of experience tying and fishing up and down the east cost Lee will lead this Saltwater tying Class. Each tier will complete the class with the skills to construct a box or boxes of flies useful from Maine to Key West. Lee enjoys incorporating materials and techniques from trout, salmon, steelhead and warm water flies into his salt patterns. Flies covered will be Lee's favorites for striper, bluefish, snook, seatrout, redfish, tarpon, shad and even pompano. All patterns have cross over potential to warm water and anywhere streamers or shrimp patterns are used. This is a great class for the salt water fisherman wanting to expand their selection as well as any fresh water guy that likes to throw a lot of streamers. You can sign up and pay for class on the website by clicking "Add to Cart" above, over the phone or in person in the shop. Please feel to contact us by phone (302) 654-6515 or message us here if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in class. |
Smallmouth Fly Tying ClassSmallmouth Class occurs every Wednesday for 4 weeks beginning March 7th, 2018. Classes start at 6 and to quote Terry, "We tie until we drop". The cost is $75.00 per person.
This is a great class for anglers wanting to expand their streamer patterns for any species. Like all of our classes we focus on tying skills and techniques. The patters we cover will not only work for smallmouth and other warm water species but have a ton of crossover potential to trout. You can sign up and pay for class here on the website, over the phone or in person in the shop. Please feel to contact us by phone (302) 654-6515 or message us here if you have any questions.
